Called for an enquiry rather than drive all the way, no one picked up intially, tried again, and they finally picked up on the 3rd attempt. They answered my question eventually but they also told me they were very busy, not a very customer focused reply.
It says online that its open at 8:30am, its not. Got there at 8:45 already with a line of people waiting and the post office was closed. 2 members of staff were there milling about doing various things like moving a coat, making sure a door was closed and some other critical tasks. At 9am I noticed another post office sign in the newsagent next door so left my place in the line and went there. The guy behind the till said this post office till is the one to be used between 8:30am and 9am, then the main post office for 9am onwards, so at 9:01 he refused to take my letter and said I would need to join the other queue. Why did none of the staff in the main post office point this out to everyone who had been standing there already for 15mins or more? Why is there no obvious sign saying if you arrive before 9am go to the newsagent post office? So I went back to the other line which by now was stretched well into the Asda lobby. The main post office had opened one position as you can see from the photo, the other two remained closed. All in all it took me 25 minutes to post one letter.
One of post-office service offering old lady is very rude. I reached on 2 minute before time, but she denied handing over my Amazon parcel. Driving from 20 miles (workplace) and it was very inconvenient.
Never ever try to get a Passport size photos from this post office. Also they will never pick up any calls !!
Don't understand why people rate so low. Every time I went to this post office I got served without any waiting time and the knowledgeable service staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
